Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum information needed to run the Founding Wrangler EOI campaign. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what we'll never do with it.
Who we are
FindARobot is an Australian marketplace connecting people who need custom work done with local machine owners ("Wranglers"). We operate as a sole trader based in Baldivis, Western Australia (ABN 40 686 039 117). References to "we", "us", and "our" mean FindARobot and its founder, Carl Manson.
What information we collect
When you submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through this website, we collect:
- Your name (first name required, last name optional)
- Your email address
- Your company or workshop name (optional)
- Your postcode
- The type of operation you run (e.g. hobbyist, small business)
- The machines you own
- How you heard about FindARobot (optional)
- Whether you'd like to hear about partner offers and platform news (optional, unticked by default)
We don't collect payment information, government identifiers, or any sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
How we collect it
Information is submitted directly through the EOI form on this website. The form data is written to a private Google Sheet (Google Workspace) via Google Apps Script. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website — see "Cookies and tracking" below. We don't use tracking pixels or advertising scripts.
Why we collect it
We use your information solely to:
- Confirm your registration as a Founding Wrangler
- Send you occasional updates about the FindARobot build and launch timeline
- Contact you when we're ready to bring you onto the platform
- If you opted in: let you know about relevant partner offers (machine makers, consumable suppliers, etc.) — we'll post these on the site; we won't email them to you unless you asked us to
We won't use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to FindARobot.
Who we share it with
Nobody. Your details are not shared, sold, or disclosed to any third parties — full stop. That includes any industry partners we work with. If we have partner offers to share, we'll post them on the site; partners don't get your contact details, ever. The only external service that touches your data is Google (for form submission and storage), which is subject to Google's own privacy commitments under the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep it
We'll hold your EOI registration for as long as it's relevant to launching FindARobot. If you ask us to delete your record, we'll do so promptly. See "Your rights" below.
Security
Your data is stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to us. We use Google Workspace's built-in access controls and don't export or copy your data to other systems.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any information that's inaccurate or out of date (you can also resubmit the EOI form — it will overwrite your existing record)
- Request deletion of your record at any time
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed, which navigation links are clicked, and whether the EOI form is submitted. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and used to improve the site; it isn't linked to the personal information you submit through the EOI form. You can opt out using a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's cookie/tracking controls. We don't use advertising scripts or any other third-party tracking.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and revise the effective date. We won't retroactively apply changes that reduce your rights without giving you notice first.
